Frequently Asked Questions
When and where are the meetings held?
Meetings are held three times per month at The Range St. Louis West. Each meeting in that month covers the same topic, offering flexible options for every scheduling need.
14803 Manchester Rd. Ballwin, MO 63011
What happens during a typical meeting?
Our monthly 2-hour meetings consist of 1 hour in the classroom followed by 1 hour in our women-only dedicated private bay on the range.
- Classroom Session: One hour of a lecture-style class taught by expert trainers. Previous meeting topics have included: basic handgun skills, firearm cleaning, building a trauma kit, clearing malfunctions, holster selection for the woman shooter, situational awareness, hand-to-hand defensive skills, introduction to rifles, yoga, and more.
- Optional Shooting and Social Hour: Following the 1-hour Classroom Session, we head downstairs to our women-only dedicated private bay on the gun range. This hour is designed for hands-on practice of what was taught in the classroom, general target practice, or to stand back and socialize with fellow members. This session is free on Wednesdays and for members of The Range St. Louis West, and otherwise has a $5 fee.
Gun Rentals are available for $5 plus the cost of on-site purchased ammo.
Can I attend more than one session per month?
Members are asked to sign up for only the one session per month that best fits their schedule, allowing everyone an opportunity to participate.
Can non-members attend a meeting?
Non-members are welcome to attend one meeting for free by signing up for a session on our
Training page.
How can I sign up for meetings?
Members can sign up for meetings through the sign up link. If a session is sold out, add your name to the waitlist by emailing [email protected]
What should I do if I can't attend a session I signed up for?
Please notify the organizers as soon as possible, so your spot can be given to someone else.
What topics are covered in the meetings?
Topics vary each month. Previous monthly topics include:
- Medical (basic tourniquet application, Individual First Aid Kits)
- Clearing Malfunctions
- Concealment workshop
- Situational Awareness
- Gun Cleaning
...And more.
What if I arrive late to a meeting?
Though we understand unusual circumstances may occur, it is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled class time. This allows for the check-in process, and ensures that attendees are seated in the classroom before the actual start time. Not only does this convey respect to the instructor's dedicated schedule, but also allows attendees to participate in an uninterrupted classroom session.
If the meeting starts before The Range's normal business hours, the doors will lock on time, and you will not be able to attend. (10am-8pm M-F, 9am-6pm Sat, 10am-6pm Sun)
